#98 Cal Abrams

"His Walk About" - Cal spent four of his 8 MLB seasons wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers hat. A bit of a journeyman, he also spent time with the Pirates, Reds, Orioles and White Sox. A .239 career hitter, Abrams finished with 433 hits and 32 home runs.
"That's Not a Knife" - It's the number 18. Abrams wore the number because 18 stands for the Hebrew word for "Life."
"More of a love bite really..." - There is minor scuffing in the lower left corner, that probably looks worse than it actually is due to the black coloring on the card. It's really in fine shape.
"Down Under" - Abrams is card #350 in the 1952 set. That's a high number, and not one that I own. But just because I don't own a copy of it, doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about it, and my opinion is the '53 is a much better looking card. That extends the '53 set's lead to 26-21-7.
"At the Oscars"
26th AL MVP Voting '54
7th AL On Base % '54
10th AL Triples '54
Inducted into the B'nai B'rith Jewish American Sports Hall of Fame in 1996
