"His Walk About" - Over 16 MLB seasons Crandall made 8 All-Star teams and won 4 Gold Gloves. A .254 career hitter, Del collected 1,276 hits and hit 179 home runs. He spent 13 seasons as a Brave, and one each as a Pirate, Giant and Indian. He helped lead the Braves to two straight World Series in '57 and '58 against the Yankees, and homered in the '57 Series, when the Braves won in 6 games.
"That's Not a Knife" - It's a Boston Brave. Del Crandall is the last living Boston Brave.
"More of a love bite really..." - There's a bit of a small "dent," on the right edge of this card, and it's slightly off-centered, but is in otherwise very nice shape.
"Down Under" - Crandall is card #162 in the 1952 set. Both the '52 and '53 Crandall cards are what I would call bland, but inoffensive. The sort of cards you see and immediately forget about. I prefer the '52 when push comes to shove, but it's close. I would note that this '53 notes the team as the "Milwaukee Braves," and that the "M" has been air brushed on in place of the "B." The other Braves cards I've posted so far still read "Boston Braves" on the card and have the "B." That cuts the '53 set's lead to 26-22-7.
