#24 Ferris Fain

#24 Ferris Fain

80 of 274

29.2% complete

"His Walk About" - A 2x Batting Champion and 5x All-Star, Ferris spent the majority of his 9 MLB seasons with the Philadelphia Athletics, before closing out with a couple of years as a White Sox, and a split season between Detroit and Cleveland.  He collected 1,139 hits and batted .290 over his career.

"That's Not a Knife" - It's a lot of marijuana.  Fain was arrested after police found more than 400 marijuana plants at his residence in 1988.

"More of a love bite really..." - This card as some minor centering issues, and suffers from the sort of cloudy discoloration that you see on a lot of these older cards.

"Down Under" - Fain is card #21 in the 1952 set. Despite the nice looking palm tree on the 1952, I slightly prefer Fain's '53 card.  That stretches the '53 set's lead to 29-26-7.
